Robin’s story

Robin grew up working for her dad, in a family-owned business, making aerospace soft goods (textile products for commercial airlines, military, etc.) The quality requirements were rigorous, and the work had to be perfect. She continued working for him until he sold his company and then in 2007 decided to start her own company making precision aerospace soft goods. When her daughter Megan finished her master’s degree, Robin hired her to oversee administration. Being a small business owner meant Robin had to interface with aerospace engineers, program managers, inspectors, buyers, etc., all while overseeing the production of high-quality goods. As challenging and rewarding as it was, there was still something missing. There was no creativity allowed. Everything was contract manufactured.

But after working with Megan on her senior project, (making handbags) a seed was planted. She couldn’t stop thinking about creating handbags. So, together, Robin and Megan started focusing on making one-of-a-kind bags. And so, The Ferris Company was born! In 2023, they rebranded to become more “western”, influenced (of course) by Robin’s horses, Turbo and Beau.

And now, Robin’s husband Wayne has stepped in as their motivational business coach and continues to be the guy that can fix or build anything. Together, the three of them make a great team!
